Augustus Mannering-Phipps, only son of the late Cuthbert Mannering-Phipps and Julia, scion of one of the best and oldest families in England. More good-looking than clever, has lost his head over a New York vaudeville performer named Ray Denison in Extricating Young Gussie, where Bertie Mannering-Phipps' Aunt Agatha sends him to New York to prevent the marriage; uses the alias George Wilson. Nephew of Agatha Gregson, cousin to Bertie Mannering-Phipps. Referred to in Artistic Career of Corky and Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest (1), where he has married Ray and is involved in music hall productions.
