Freddie and Eustace Potts are remembered by Galahad in
Galahad at Blandings and elsewhere because on the Riviera their French
chef picked up a dead hedgehog from the road on the way
to the market to buy a chicken. He pocketed the money and
served up the hedgehog en casserole. Eustace the teetotaler
died; Freddie, who had lived mostly on whiskey since
childhood, showed no ill effects whatsoever.
