Alan Gethryn, head of Leicester's house, Beckford College in A Prefect's Uncle, known as the Bishop. Member of the first fifteen and the first eleven, second best bowler in the school. Nephew of Reginald Farnie. Recruited by Joan Romney (a sort of cousin, about twice removed) to pitch for Much Middlefold in Personally Conducted, where he is still in Leicester's house at Beckford.
