Dorothea Darrell, widow of a soldier in a line regiment, works as a palmist in the beginning of Disentangling Old Percy, where after a flirtation with Percy Craye and his brother Edwin, she marries their father, Lord Worplesdon, and becomes Florence Craye's stepmother.
