Major-General Sir Wilfred Bosher, D.S.O. served on the north-western frontier of India. One of the high spots of Bertie Wooster's youth came when Sir Wilfred was distributing prizes at the school where young Bertie Wooster and Gussie Fink-Nottle were students. Dropping a book which he was about to bestow, he stooped to pick it up and split his trousers up the middle (as fondly remembered in Right Ho, Jeeves).
